Stream My Drone
Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 1, 2026
Introduction
Stream My Drone for iPhone, iPad and Android receives the picture that DJI Fly sends from your DJI remote controller over your local network, and forwards it to the streaming platforms you choose. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: the app does not collect any data, and there is no Stream My Drone server or account.
In short:
- We do not collect, receive, share or sell any personal data.
- The app contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking code.
- The app never contacts a server run by us. Your video goes only to the streaming platforms you set up.
- Your stream keys stay on your device, in secure storage.
1. What Stays on Your Device
The app keeps the following on your device only. None of it is sent to us.
- Saved platforms: the name, platform and server address of each destination you add.
- Stream keys: on iPhone and iPad, in the iOS Keychain, readable only on this device while it is unlocked, and never synced to iCloud or included in backups. On Android, encrypted with a key held by the Android Keystore.
- Preferences: theme, language, how the picture fills the screen, and whether you have seen the first-run guide.
- Test video: if you pick a video to try the app without a drone, a converted copy of its first 60 seconds may be kept in the app's cache so it does not need converting again.
The drone's picture is not recorded or stored by the app.
2. Where Your Video Goes
- From your remote controller to the app: DJI Fly sends the picture to the app over your local Wi-Fi network or your phone's hotspot. It does not pass through the internet.
- From the app to your platforms: while you are live, the app sends the picture and sound, together with the stream key you entered, directly to the RTMP or RTMPS server of each platform you switched on (for example Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, Kick or your own server). For RTMPS addresses the connection is encrypted and the server's certificate is verified.
What those platforms do with your broadcast is covered by their own privacy policies. DJI Fly and your DJI equipment are covered by DJI's privacy policy. Stream My Drone is not affiliated with DJI or with any streaming platform.
3. Permissions
- Local network (iPhone and iPad): to receive the picture from DJI Fly on your remote controller.
- Internet: to send your broadcast to the platforms you chose.
- Notifications: on iPhone and iPad, only to warn you when a broadcast is about to stop because the app left the screen; on Android, for the notification shown while the app is receiving or broadcasting.
- Picture in Picture and background audio (iPhone and iPad): to keep a broadcast running while you use another app. The app plays no sound.
- Wi-Fi state, wake lock and foreground service (Android): to show your connection's quality and keep the broadcast running with the screen off.
The app does not use your camera, microphone, location, contacts or photo library. When you pick a test video, the system's own picker gives the app only the video you chose.
4. Children's Privacy
Stream My Drone is not directed at children under 13. The app does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.
5. Deleting Your Data
- Deleting a platform in the app removes its server address and stream key from your device.
- Uninstalling the app removes its settings and cache. On iPhone and iPad, iOS may keep Keychain items after an app is deleted, so delete your platforms in the app first if you want their keys gone too.
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to access, export or delete on your behalf.
6. Changes to This Policy
If the app's handling of information changes, this policy will be updated and the "Last Updated" date above will change.
